When the Big Easy Entertainment Awards decided to create a new Music Heritage Award in 1999, they chose K-Doe as their first recipient. He performed with Allen Toussaint at the ceremony. Here is he is pictured with his wife Antoinette (left) and her cousin, Tee-Eva (right), who runs a famous praline and sno-ball stand on Magazine Street near Napoleon Avenue in New Orleans.
